IGR for my IPM? (Insect Growth Regulator for my Integrated Pest Management)

Pesticide use is certainly an ongoing concern in today’s world, so the idea of alternatives to these pesticides are met with great appeal.  One such alternative would be the use of an Insect Growth Regulator (IGR). IGR’s can target a specific insect and will interrupt its natural life cycle.  These products provide a reduced risk to beneficial insects and targeted insects are less likely to develop resistance.  An IGR approach requires proper timing and should be applied during the early life stages of the targeted insect.
